Today, I'm launching the pre-order for Holy Noise, an absurdly-long collection of ambient meditations that were improvised live on my Twitch streams between 2021 and 2023.
"But Billy, in a world where the recommended content length is 21-34 seconds to appease the algorithm, why release an album with 36 tracks that total almost 9 hours?"
"I'm not a smart man, but I know what love is." - Forrest Gump
But seriously, my real answer to this question is that in response to the constant devaluing of art via streaming services and A.I. advancements, I want to focus more on what makes my music uniquely human.
Holy Noise is an imperfect but honest documentation of emotions I had to process during a very specific period in which I became a new father during a pandemic (whew!).
Shuffle it and see what happens or let it play from start to finish. Let the textures paint the background of your thoughts. However you choose to interact with it, just remember that it's human.
You can hear the first song now on Bandcamp and a new one will be made available every Friday between now and the official wide release on February 23rd, where it will finally make its way to Spotify, Apple Music, etc…
Thank you for listening and for supporting my work.
